Enjoy!
This morning I was walking down memory lane, reviewing pictures I have taken doing different mission trips.
Many of these pictures have been a grounding for me. They have helped me to remember life isn't all about me and what I can get out of it. If we are not careful we can spend valuable energy trying to get that next great "thing" or becoming the next leading __________(you fill in the blank).
I think that is why I enjoy visiting third world countries the most. They remind me to slow down and focus on what matters most. In many places I've visited; transportation, TV, theaters, central air conditioning, Starbucks, and other standard American luxuries are limited or don't exist. However, I find that many of these "needs" of mine can be lived without.
What matters most?
A quick answer would be, "Different things matter most to different people. It depends on the person you ask." I think that is a correct answer if I was asking, "What wants matter most?".
Our wants maybe broad and diverse, unique to each person, but or needs are specific and basic; not varying from person to person.
Community Matters
I will share more on this later.
Thanks Will, glad your blogging now. We need to here some thoughts from the Bishop
